Techno Edge at the National University of Singapore involves the redevelopment of an existing canteen into a future integrated student hub.
The building responds to its verdant surroundings, terraneous site and location right between the School of Engineering and the School of Design and Environment. Its form weaves in and out of the landscape, accompanied by continuous horizontal sun and rain shades that emphasise the sinuous curves of the building and undulating terrain of the land. The building’s organic edge is designed around rain trees, where elevating the canteen above grade provides a panoramic vista for users to enjoy the lush green canopies.
